What is the Home Raising Academy?
The Home Raising Academy (“HRA”) provides training in Home Elevation for owners and employees at general contracting, foundation companies, and qualified contractors in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

Why should I learn home elevation?
The Home Raising Academy courses address multiple topics that will result in safer, more efficient execution of home raising projects. Flood insurance premiums for homeowners are rising to very high rates. Elevation lowers flood risk and flood insurance costs. The HRA offers this innovative training in order to meet the rising demand for these elevation projects.
When is the next HRA class?
The next class will be in April 2022. Each class consists of four two-hour of training sessions via Zoom scheduled in the evening. Upon successful completion of the HRA, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
How much does the class cost?
This program is funded by a competitive grant through RISE and for a limited time, qualified trainees can receive a scholarship and attend at no cost.
